The area of the municipal area of 18.52 km² includes a section of the Bornes Alps and the uppermost part of the Chaise catchment area. In the east rises the Mont Charvin (with 2409 m the highest point of Le Bouchet), which together with the Aiguilles du Mont ( 2132 m ) forms the south-western end of the Aravis chain. The municipality extends to the south up to the Col de l'Epine .
In addition to the actual town center, Le Bouchet also includes various hamlet settlements and farms, including:
- Cons ( 930 m ) on the south-eastern slope of the Chaise valley
- La Savatte ( 1144 m ) on the southeastern slope of the Chaise valley at the foot of Mont Charvin

history
The place was only separated from Serraval in 1877 and made an independent municipality. From then until the end of 2013, the name Le Bouchet existed ; to avoid confusion with the hamlet of Le Bouchet of Le Grand-Bornand , the municipality was finally officially named Le Bouchet-Mont-Charvin .

With 242 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017), Le Bouchet-Mont-Charvin is one of the smallest communities in the Haute-Savoie department. In the course of the 19th and 20th centuries, the population decreased continuously due to strong emigration (in 1876 there were still 495 inhabitants in Le Bouchet). Since the beginning of the 1990s, however, a significant increase in population has been recorded.
Economy and Infrastructure
Until well into the 20th century, Le Bouchet-Mont-Charvin was a village dominated by agriculture and alpine farming. Today there are individual small businesses. Many workers are commuters who work in the larger towns in the area. The mountain village also benefits from modest summer tourism.
The village is located away from the larger thoroughfares. It can be reached from Serraval or from Marlens.
