Vallières-sur-Fier is a French commune with 2,503 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Haute-Savoie in the region of Auvergne Rhône-Alpes . It belongs to the Arrondissement of Annecy and the canton of Rumilly .

It was created as Commune nouvelle with effect from January 1, 2019 through the amalgamation of the previous communes of Vallières and Val-de-Fier , which, however, were not granted the status of Commune déléguée in the new commune . The administrative headquarters are in Vallières.

Vallières-sur-Fier is about 16 kilometers west of the city of Annecy (as the crow flies). The municipality extends in the Albanais , slightly elevated on the edge of the wide valley of the Fier , east of the ridge of the Montagne du Gros Foug . The traffic-related development takes place through Départementsstraße D 14.

Neighboring municipalities are: Versonnex in the north, Saint-Eusèbe in the northeast, Hauteville-sur-Fier in the east, Sales in the southeast, Rumilly in the south, Moye and Lornay in the southwest, Motz and Seyssel in the west, and Droisy and Crempigny-Bonneguête in the northwest.
