Chandausi is a city in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh .

Chandausi lies in the north Indian plain 150 km east of the federal capital New Delhi and 40 km south of Moradabad . The city is located in the Sambhal District, newly established in 2011/2012, and was previously part of the Moradabad District . Chandausi is on the national highway NH 93 ( Aligarh- Moradabad). Main roads lead from Chandausi to Sambhal and Badaun .

As a city, Chandausi has the status of Nagar Palika Parishad . The city is divided into 25 wards . At the 2011 census, Sambhal had 114,383 inhabitants. 73.49% of the population are followers of Hinduism , 25.71% are Muslims .
