Charles-Auguste Questel

Charles-Auguste Questel (born September 19, 1807 in Paris , † January 30, 1888 there ) was a French architect.

Life

Questel came to the École des Beaux-Arts (EBA) in his hometown early on . There he was among other things a student of Félix Duban . Supported by this, Questel was able to successfully debut with several works in 1844 and achieve the Prix ​​de Rome (2nd place).

At the end of his training at the EBA, he was offered his own studio and teaching position. After the Franco-Prussian War he was accepted as a member of the Académie des Beaux-Arts in 1871 .

Questel died in Paris at the age of eighty and found his final resting place there. After Questel's death, his studio was taken over and continued by Jean-Louis Pascal .
