Charles Henry Plumb, Baron Plumb (born March 27, 1925 in Warwickshire ) is a British Conservative Party politician . He was President of the European Parliament from 1987 to 1989, making him the only Briton in this position.

Plumb was a leading member of the British farmers' association, the National Farmers Union, and from 1970 to 1979 president of that organization. Between 1979 and 1999 he was elected to the European Parliament for the Cotswolds constituency. He was chairman of the Committee on Agriculture from 1979 to 1982 and chairman of the European Democrats from 1982 to 1987 . Between 1987 and 1989 he was President of Parliament. Then he was a simple member of the Agriculture Committee until 1994 . Between 1994 and 1999 was a member of the Committee for Development and Cooperation .

Plumb was promoted to Life Peer in 1987 as Baron Plumb , of Coleshill in the County of Warwickshire . He is Chancellor of Coventry University and co-founder of the EU lobbying firm Alber & Geiger.
