Charles Palmer (born August 18, 1869 in Old Warden , † November 14, 1947 in Colwyn Bay , Wales ) was a British marksman .

Charles Palmer took part in the 1908 Olympic Games in London , in 1912 in Stockholm and 1920 in Antwerp in the trap part. The individual competition in 1908 finished Palmer with 55 points in fifth place. In the team competition, he took first place with the first British team before Canada and the second British team. With a total of 407 points and thus two points ahead of the Canadians, the British, whose team also consisted of James Pike , Alexander Maunder , John Postans , Frank Moore and Peter Easte , secured the gold medal. Palmer was the team's third best shooter with 71 points. Four years later he did not get beyond 21st place in the individual, but won another medal with the team. With 511 points, they kept the German team one point at a distance and secured the silver medal behind the US team (532 points). Palmer was this time with 79 points one of the two weakest shooters of the team, which also included Harold Humby , William Grosvenor , George Whitaker , Alexander Maunder and John Butt . In 1920 he only started in the team competition and missed another medal win with the team in fourth place.
