Charles van Acker

Charles van Acker (born March 14, 1912 in Brussels , Belgium ; † May 31, 1998 in South Bend , Indiana , USA ) was an American racing driver of Belgian origin.

Career

Van Acker was born in Belgium, but started his racing career in the USA. Between 1946 and 1950, he tried to qualify for the Indianapolis 500 every year . Three attempts succeeded, the best result was an 11th place in a Stevens - Offenhauser 1948. After his career he ran a racetrack in South Bend, Indiana.
