Charlotta Fougberg (born June 19, 1985 ) is a Swedish athlete who specializes in long-distance and obstacle running.

Athletic career

From 2010 to 2013, Fougberg was Swedish champion in obstacle course four times in a row. Her first participation in a major international event was at the 2013 World Championships in Moscow, where she was eliminated in the preliminary stages.

Fougberg's international breakthrough came in the 2014 season. At the end of May, she improved the Swedish record at an athletics meeting in Oordegem, Belgium, to 9: 34.61 minutes. In July she ran another best performance in Glasgow and with 9: 23.96 minutes she topped the European best of the year. At the European Championships in Zurich , however, she had to admit defeat to the German Antje Möldner-Schmidt and won the silver medal in 9: 30.16 minutes.

In 2015 Fougberg took eleventh place in the 3000 meter run at the European Indoor Championships in Prague with a time of 9: 06.50 minutes . At the World Championships in Beijing , she was eliminated in the obstacle course after the heats. She also failed to qualify for the final at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.

In 2017 Fougberg was twelfth over 3000 meters at the European Indoor Championships in Belgrade in 9: 09.53 minutes. At the World Championships in London , she again failed to make it into the finals in the obstacle course. In the following season she mainly concentrated on the flat long distances. At the European Championships in Berlin in 2018 , she finished seventh in the 10,000 meter run and ninth place in the 5000 meter run .
