Charlotte Walther-Wipplinger

Charlotte Walther-Wipplinger (born June 14, 1911 in Kiel ; † July 1, 1992 in Weitenegg near Melk ) was an Austrian painter .

Live and act

Charlotte Walther was born in Kiel in 1911 . She lived in Hamburg for the greater part of her childhood and youth (1913–1931) . After graduating from high school, she studied art at the academies and universities in Hamburg, Vienna and Paris (Académie de la Grande Chaumière) from 1931 to 1934 . In Paris in 1933 she married Evert Wipplinger (* 1911 in Vienna). This was followed by stays in Austria , Germany , France , Hungary , Yugoslavia , Italy and Spain from 1934 to 1938 . From 1938 to 1945 her permanent residence with her husband and four children was in Weitenegg on the Danube.

In 1945 the family fled to Tyrol and stayed there until 1948, where their fifth child was born. Because of the Russian occupation of Lower Austria , the family could not return to Weitenegg. From 1948 to 1952, Vienna was her new place of residence. From 1952 to 1955 the family lived in South America , alternately in Buenos Aires and Rio de Janeiro . In 1955 he returned to Weitenegg, and this place was again his permanent residence until 1991. From here trips were made to Spain, Italy, Germany, France and Greece . Charlotte Walther-Wipplinger died on July 1, 1992 in Weitenegg.
