Charlotte de Witte

Charlotte de Witte (* 21st July 1992 in Ghent ) is a Belgian techno - DJ and music producer . Early in her career, she was known by her alter ego, Raving George .

Life

De Witte came into contact with a wide variety of musical styles at an early age through her father, who worked for the EMI Group . At the age of 17 she began to DJ, at that time still under the name Raving George . She used this stage name to focus on her music, not her gender. In her early days she mainly played electro house  and mainstream - EDM . In 2011 she won the Elektropedia Award of the station Studio Brussel and was allowed to act for the first time (as an opener) at Tomorrowland . In 2013, her first tracks were released.

From 2015, her musical style changed from electro house to techno music and she also began to publish her tracks under her real name. De Witte cites a set by the German DJ Len Faki that she heard at a festival as the origin of this stylistic change .

Appearances at festivals such as Awakenings , Electric Daisy Carnival , Zürich Openair , Pukkelpop , Dour Festival , Rock Werchter , Laundry Day and a session at the Boiler Room followed . Today de Witte is one of the most famous Belgian DJs.
