Chaudandigadhi ( Nepali बेल्टार-बसाहा Beltar-Basaha ) is a city ( municipality ) in the eastern Terai of Nepal in the Udayapur district .
history
The city was created in 2014 by merging the Village Development Committees Basaha and Beltar . Until 2017 the city was named Beltar-Basaha .
In the course of the restructuring of the local level and the creation of the Gaunpalikas (rural communities) by amalgamating and abolishing the Village Development Committees on March 10, 2017, the VDCs Chaudandi , Siddhipur , Hadiya and Sundarpur were incorporated and the city was renamed.
geography
Chaudandigadhi is located west of the Koshi at the foot of the Siwaliks . When it was founded, the urban area covered 68.9 km². After the incorporation in 2017, the area grew to 283.78 km².
Residents
At the 2011 census, the VDCs that made up the city had 23,918 inhabitants (10,767 of them male) in 5368 households. After the incorporation, the population grew to 48,574 inhabitants.
