Chelsea Holmes (born January 20, 1987 ) is an American cross-country skier .

Career

Holmes started in January 2009 in Anchorage for the first time in the US Super Tour . She finished 42nd in the 5 km freestyle. In February 2011 she achieved her first podium finish in the US Super Tour with second place in the 21 km mass start race in Aspen . The following month she won the Nor Am Cup in Canmore each over 5 km freestyle and in the 30 km mass start race. In early April 2009 she came back on the podium with third place at the US Super Tour in Sun Valley . In the 2011/12 season she took third and second place on the US Super Tour. In February 2012 she won her first classic tour victory in Aspen over 5 km and reached fifth place in the overall standings at the end of the season. After two second places at the beginning of the 2012/13 season in the US Super Tour over 10 km freestyle in West Yellowstone and in the 10 km mass start race in Bozeman , she ran her first World Cup races in Canmore , which she placed 49th in the skiathlon and on finished 47th in the 10 km mass start race. At the beginning of the 2013/14 season she won the 10 km mass start race in Bozeman. This was followed by two second places and a third place and at the end of the season eighth place in the overall standings. In the following season she came in the US Super Tour 15 times in the top ten, including three second places and one third place, finishing second overall. At the beginning of the 2015/16 season , she came in second place in the 10 km freestyle in West Yellowstone and first in the 10 km mass start race in Sun Valley . In the further course of the season she came second twice and third twice and at the end of the season she finished third in the overall ranking of the US Super Tour. In March 2016, she came in 31st place in the Ski Tour Canada . She got her first World Cup points in Canmore with 22nd place over 10 km freestyle and 28th place in the final stage. In the 2016/17 season she won three wins each at the US Supertour and at the Nor Am Cup, thus winning the overall ratings of these racing series. At the season highlight, the Nordic World Ski Championships 2017 in Lahti , she finished 13th in the 30 km mass start race.
