Cherry Valley is a village in Winnebago County in the north of the US state of Illinois . With 3,162 residents, it belongs to the Rockford metropolitan area and is around 10 km east of its center. A small part of the village is part of Boone County .

Demographic data

As of the 2010 census , there were 3,162 people in Cherry Valley. The population density was 140.34 inhabitants / km². The racial population was 88.2% White, 2.88% African American, 0.35% Native American, 4.74% Asian, and 0.06% Pacific Islander. 1.45% belonged to other races, 2.31% belonged to two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race was 5.12% of the total population.

economy

Cherry Valley is largely shaped by retail, with the Cherryvale Mall , the largest shopping center in the Rockford metropolitan area, is located on the outskirts of the city. Most residents, however, commute to nearby Rockford or Chicago to work .
