The county is located in northern Illinois on the Kishwaukee River and has an area of ​​730 square kilometers, of which two square kilometers are water. history

Daniel Boone

The first settlers came from New York and New England. On March 3, 1836, the new county was separated from Winnebago County. The new county was named after the Kentucky pioneer Daniel Boone . In 1850 there were already 12 settlements.
