Belvidere (pronounced bɛlvɨˌdɪər) is a city and administrative seat of Boone County in the north of the US -amerikanischen state of Illinois . In 2000 Belvidere had 20,820 inhabitants, an estimate in 2005 showed a population of 24,593.
