Chiara Bazzoni (born July 5, 1984 in Arezzo ) is an Italian athlete who specializes in the 400-meter run . She achieved her greatest international success as a member of the Italian 4 x 400 meter relay .

Athletic career

In 2010, Chiara Bazzoni took part in an international championship, the European Championships , for the first time , where she just barely missed a medal as fourth in the relay, as well as at the 2011 European Athletics Indoor Championships in Paris . At the World Championships in Daegu , the Italian relay runners could not qualify for the final run again.

In 2012 Bazzoni retired at the European Championships in Helsinki over 400 meters and with the relay in the preliminary round. She was also part of the season for the Olympic Games , in which the Italians again met the early end. In 2013 she won the gold medal at the Mediterranean Games in Mersin over 400 meters and with the Italian relay. At the World Championships in Moscow , the relay reached the final, but was disqualified there for violating the lane marking. In the individual competition, she reached the semi-finals for the first time. At the European Championships in Zurich in 2014 , she finished seventh in the relay and made it to the semi-finals in the special competition.

At the European Championships in Amsterdam in 2016 , she won the bronze medal with the relay.
