Chongwen

Chongwen ( Chinese  崇文区 , Pinyin Chóngwén qū ) was a district of the Chinese capital Beijing . It was disbanded on July 1, 2010, and its area was integrated into the Dongcheng District .

The Chongwen District was southeast of the city center ( Tian'anmen ), and stretched from Yongdingmen to Qianmen .

Chongwen had an area of ​​16.46 km² and about 346,000 inhabitants. Although it was very central, the per capita income was much lower than in other parts of the city. Chongwen was the smallest of the four inner boroughs that included the old town.

Attractions

The Chongwen District was home to the Temple of Heaven and Longtan Park .
