Chris Mayotte (born September 16, 1957 in Springfield , Massachusetts ) is a retired American tennis player .

Life

Mayotte graduated from the University of South Carolina . Between 1980 and 1982 he played on the ATP World Tour , but was never as successful as his younger brother Tim . He had his best individual result on the ATP World Tour at the Heineken Open in Auckland , where he reached the quarter-finals in 1981 and the semi-finals the following year. He won his first of a total of three double tournaments on the ATP World Tour alongside his brother Tim. He also won the other two titles in the same year. He reached his highest score in the tennis world rankings in 1980 with position 124 in singles and 1983 with position 220 in doubles.

His best individual result in a Grand Slam tournament was reaching the third round at the US Open in 1981. In the doubles competition, he reached the second round at the 1980 Australian Open , and he achieved the same result the following year at the US Open.
