Christel Hausding

Christel Hausding (born November 20, 1949 in Leverkusen ) is a German pedagogue , educational scientist and author. From 2008 to 2014 she was President of the Synod of the Evangelical Church in Württemberg .

Career

Christel Hausding comes from a Catholic family. After graduating from the Städtisches Mädchengymnasium Leverkusen in 1968, she studied at the University of Education in Cologne , where she passed her first state examination. After completing her legal traineeship and the second state examination as a primary and secondary school teacher, she went on to study pedagogy, psychology and geography, which she completed in 1978 with a doctorate in the field of educational science. Shortly afterwards she converted to the evangelical faith. From 1978 to 1981 she was a research assistant in the geography department at the Aachen University of Education .

Since 1983 she has been a member of the Württemberg regional synod and since 1991 a member of the synod of the Evangelical Church in Germany .

On February 23, 2008, she succeeded Horst Neugart as President of the Synod of the Evangelical Church in Württemberg.

She is a member of the Living Congregation discussion group, is involved in the forum for missionary women as well as in the state board of the Evangelical Collection in Württemberg and is active as a preacher in the Ulm church district . She is a member of the advisory boards of the Deaconess Mother House in Aidlingen and the Liebenzell International University .

Christel Hausding has been married since 1980 and lives in Langenau near Ulm . She wrote several books in the field of education and within her church engagement.
