Christian Bienert

Christian Bienert (born December 21, 1947 in Berlin ; † July 7, 2020 ) was a German radio presenter .

Bienert, son of the composer Olaf Bienert , studied German , journalism and law at the Free University of Berlin , before working as a freelancer in the entertainment department of the RIAS from 1969 . Later Bienert was an author, presenter, unit manager and director for Deutsche Welle , WDR , NDR and above all RIAS. After the merger of Deutschlandfunk , DS Kultur and RIAS to form Deutschlandradio , he worked for Deutschlandradio Kultur until 2012 (until 2005 “DeutschlandRadio Berlin”).

Since the 1970s, Bienert was the author of the series Das Klingende Sonntagsrätsel , moderated by Hans Rosenthal , which he moderated himself in 1987 after Rosenthal's death until his retirement at the end of 2012. It was through them that Bienert became known to a wide public.

Bienert meticulously archived the listeners' responses, answered many personally and also put listeners in contact with one another. In the age of analog radio, he put a lot of effort into building up and maintaining the discourse with the listeners. His audience appreciated his sonorous voice and his closeness.
