Christian Bommarius (2018)

Christian Bommarius (born August 4, 1958 in Frankfurt am Main ) is a German lawyer , journalist and book author .

Life

Bommarius studied German and law and was a trainee at dpa before he became a correspondent for the German Press Agency from 1987 to 1997 , including at the Federal Constitutional Court in Karlsruhe . In 1998 and 1999 he was head of politics at the Badische Zeitung , from 1999 employee of the Berliner Zeitung , among other things as chief editor. Since 2010 he has been the chief commentator of the DuMont editorial community . Christian Bommarius primarily writes comments, leading articles and opinion pieces on legal and socio-political topics for the Berliner Zeitung and the Frankfurter Rundschau , and since 2018 also for the Süddeutsche Zeitung . Since 2004 he has published several non-fiction books on political and historical topics.
