Christian Engelhart (born December 13, 1986 in Ingolstadt ) is a German racing car driver . He has been driving in the Porsche Carrera Cup since 2008, in the ADAC GT Masters since 2012 and in a Lamborghini in the Blancpain GT Series since 2017, where he immediately won the championship title in 2017. With more than 100 podium finishes and over 40 victories in a sports car, as well as victory in the 2019 Daytona 24 Hours, he is one of the most successful German sports car drivers.

Career

Engelhart began his motorsport career in karting in 2001 . In 2002, Engelhart in Formula racing in the German Formula BMW . After two successful years in the Austrian touring car championship, he switched to GT racing and competed in the German Porsche Carrera Cup . In 2010 Engelhart scored his first victory in the Porsche Carrera Cup. In 2011 Engelhart moved to Konrad Motorsport's Porsche Supercup and became Nick Tandy's team-mate . He succeeded immediately at the first event in Istanbul the pole position to reach and win the race. Engelhart also competed in a race in the German Porsche Carrera Cup in 2011 and two races in the ADAC GT Masters , where he won a race with Norbert Siedler .

In 2012 Engelhart finished third in his first full season in the ADAC GT Masters. In the Porsche Carrera Cup, which he continued to run at the same time, he was runner-up three times in 2013–2016 and was once third in the championship.

In 2016 Engelhart won his debut race in the Blancpain GT Series at the endurance race at the Nürburgring for the GRT Grasser Racing Team together with teammates Mirko Bortolotti and Rolf Ineichen in a Lamborghini.

In 2017 Engelhart drove his first full season in the Blancpain GT Series and won the team championship with the GRT Grasser Racing Team and the drivers’s championship with Mirko Bortolotti.
