Christian Fritz (* 1988 in Münster ) is a German pianist .

Life

At the age of three, Christian Fritz was already able to determine perfect hearing . A year later he began taking professional music lessons, including a. as a student of Roswitha Gediga-Glombitza ( University of Music and Dance Cologne ; HfMT Cologne). From September 2006 to September 2010 Fritz studied at the Folkwang Hochschule in the piano class of Professor Till Engel. From October 2010 he was a student in Lev Natochenny's master class at the Frankfurt University of Music and Performing Arts . With him, he completed his diploma in February 2015 with the grade very good.

Christian Fritz attended master classes a. a. with Pierre-Laurent Aimard , Hubert Buchberger , with the Fauré Quartet , Bernd Glemser , Karl-Heinz Kämmerling , Renate Kretschmar-Fischer , Young Kyu Lee, Kurt Masur , Jean-Guihen Queyras , Ilana Schapira-Marinescu, Georg Friedrich Schenck, Ragna Schirmer , Dina Sigfridsson, Boguslaw Jan Strobel, Alexander Tselyakov and Anatol Ugorski .

Christian Fritz was the first prize winner several times in the national competition “ Jugend musiziert ”, where he was the first national prize winner several times. He also won prizes in international competitions: Fritz was a. a. Winner of the International Hindemith Competition 2008 in Berlin , the II. International Chopin Competition in Hungary and the II. International Piano Competition Premio Euterpe.

In 2007 Fritz played works by César Franck and Claude Debussy as part of the concert program of the Philharmonie Essen . In 2008 he performed in a concert program at the Mozarthaus Augsburg with works by Ludwig van Beethoven and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart . In 2009 Fritz performed at the Ruhr Piano Festival with works by Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy .

Fritz gives concerts in Germany and other European countries, both as a soloist and accompanied by an orchestra. As a soloist he played with various orchestras, a. a. with the Landesjugend-Orchester Nordrhein-Westfalen, the Jugend-Sinfonieorchester Köln, the Collegium musicum Aachen, the Universiteits Orkest Maastricht and the Collegium musicum Bonn. The focus of his repertoire is chamber music and piano music , especially the piano concertos by Ludwig van Beethoven , Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart , Frédéric Chopin , Franz Schubert and George Gershwin .

Christian Fritz is committed to contemporary music, u. a. at performances with Christoph Caskel , and occasionally undertakes repertoire expansions in the jazz area. He has also performed as a chamber musician and, since 2013, has repeatedly performed in duets with the cellist Michael Polyzoides. Since 2018 he has been a member of the chamber music ensemble Spark .
