Christian Graf (born 1978 in Mödling ) is an Austrian actor and musical performer .

life and work

Graf completed his training as a kindergarten teacher and then studied private acting with Robert Hauer-Riedl and Silvia Steindl , as well as classical singing with Sheila Edwards and Erika Mechera . At the Ensemble Theater Wien he played in Das Fräulein Pollinger after Ödön by Horváth's novel Thirty-six Hours , in Brecht's The Good Man by Sezuan and in Werner Schwab's Mesalliance but we fuck each other splendidly . In the Vienna Metropol he could be seen in Ti amo , an Italo-Pop musical by Markus Gull and Peter Hofbauer , at the Klagenfurt City Theater in Jewgeni Schwarz ' The Enchanted Brothers and in Yehoshua Sobol's Ghetto , and at the Vienna Volkstheater in Nestroy's Der Färber and his twin brother . Graf also plays regularly at the Theater der Jugend , a. a. in Guus Kuijers Ein himmlischer Platz , Otfried Preußler's Krabat or Christine Nöstlinger's Konrad or The Child from the Tin .

Graf played numerous leading roles at the Nestroyspiele Schwechat - including Wendelin in fear of hell , as impromptu in Nur keck! , as fog in love stories and marriage matters and as Arthur in vain! . He worked with the directors Philippe Arlaud , Thomas Birkmeir , Peter Gruber , Dieter Haspel , Tim Kramer, Elfriede Ott , Michael Schachermaier , Vicki Schubert , Jehoschua Sobol and Peter Wagner .

During a new production of the Threepenny Opera in the Klagenfurt City Theater, Graf first met director Henry Mason , who has since cast him in many of his productions. Directed by Mason, the actor made his debut at the Salzburg Festival in 2013 and at the Vienna Volksoper in 2014 .

  • 2016: Austrian Music Theater Prize in the Best Male Supporting Role category for the portrayal of the Wicked Witch of the West in The Wizard of Oz at the Vienna Volksoper
