Christian Höcherl (* 8. December 1973 in Wörth an der Donau ) is a German solo - trumpet player in the genre of classical music . He is a member of the Dresden Philharmonic .

Life

At the age of 15 Höcherl received his first trumpet lessons at the Anton-Bruckner-Gymnasium Straubing . He gained his first orchestral experience in the Bavarian State Youth Orchestra . After receiving private tuition from Paul Lachenmeir from 1990 onwards, he studied with Lachenmeir at the University of Music and Theater in Munich and completed his major in trumpet with Hannes Läubin with a diploma in 1999 .

With the exception of a two-year hiatus from 2003 to 2005, during which he was deputy solo trumpeter with the Munich Radio Orchestra , he has been a solo trumpeter with the Dresden Philharmonic since 1999.

As a guest trumpeter he appears with the symphony orchestras of NDR , SWR and BR as well as the Munich Philharmonic , the Bavarian State Orchestra , the Munich Radio Orchestra and the Staatskapelle Dresden under conductors such as Lorin Maazel , Rafael Frühbeck de Burgos , Zubin Mehta , Mariss Jansons , to name but a few call on.

In addition to his main activity, Christian Höcherl also devotes himself to other musical styles. He plays with numerous chamber music groups such as German Brass , Big Bands and Ernst Hutter & Die Egerländer Musikanten , for whom he composed a polka .

As a soloist , he has appeared with the Dresden Philharmonic, the Pilsen Radio Symphony Orchestra, the Dresden Frauenkirche and at various music festivals, summer concerts and festivals. Numerous CD recordings with these ensembles and orchestras have documented his artistic work at home and abroad. With the exception of Australia, music took him to every continent.

As a lecturer , he passes on his musical skills and knowledge in various courses. He acts as a jury member at music competitions.

Christian Höcherl lives in Hofdorf near Wörth on the Danube.
