Christian Heinrich Kindler
Christian Heinrich Kindler (born August 28, 1762 in Wismar , † March 10, 1845 in Lübeck ) was a German lawyer and mayor of the Hanseatic city of Lübeck.
Life
Christian Heinrich Kindler was the son of Johann Joachim Kindler, who ran an "open shop" as a spice dealer in Wismar. His grandfather Johann Kindler was rector of the Great City School in Wismar from 1695 to 1723 .
Christian Heinrich Kindler studied law at the Universities of Göttingen and Leipzig . He had been a friend of Gustav Conrad Hugo since he was a student .
After a brief activity as an auscultant at the Wismar Tribunal , he became Procurator for Lower Court in Lübeck in 1792 and councilor in 1803. During the French period in Lübeck in 1811 he was judge at the French tribunal. In 1821 he became mayor .
The polyhistor Ernst Deecke dedicated a school program of the Katharineum to him in 1842 for the 50th anniversary of “professional effectiveness” with a contribution “from the oldest Lübeck council line.” Kindler received the highest award of the Lübeck state with the commemorative coin Bene Merenti .
The Lübeck city library kept an ivory portrait medallion Kindler cut by Søren Seidelin Winther († 1847), which the head of the Holy Spirit Hospital had given him for the same occasion.
Since July 22, 1800 he was married to Dorothea Charlotte, b. Meyersieck.
His family grave is preserved in the St. Lorenz cemetery and bears the inscription:
GRAVE DECORATION; YOU ONLY MEET THE EARTHLY HELL.
