For the 1988/89 season from Westfalia Herne - with the team from Strünkede Castle , Korek had reached the runner-up in the Oberliga Westfalen in the season 1987/88 under coach Pedro Milašinčić - young professional Korek could not prevail in the Bundesliga team of 1. FC Nürnberg . In two seasons he only played one game. On the 33rd match day of his first season at the club, he was substituted on against FC Bayern Munich in the 68th minute of the game when the score was 2-1. At that time, Nuremberg was still fighting to stay in the league and Bayern were as good as champions. He moved to SC Verl , where he stayed four seasons before giving a year-long stint at SpVg Beckum . From 1996 he let his career end with his hometown club SC Westfalia.
