Christian Karl Reimeir (born December 16, 1974 in Hall in Tirol ) is an Austrian composer .

Life

After graduating from the HTL-Nachrichtenentechnik in Innsbruck (1994), Reimeir first studied mathematics and physics. At the age of 17 he found his access to music through self-taught experience at the piano. From 1992 Reimeir learned to play the piano and music theory in self-study and composed his first piano pieces. He then studied composition at the Innsbruck Conservatory with Martin Lichtfuss from 1999 to 2006 (diploma 2006).

Reimeir is a founding member of "AKRÓASIS" - Forum for Music and Media in an Intercultural Context (Vienna, 2009) and winner of the Composition Prize of the City of Innsbruck (2010). His compositions can be heard in the feature film "Life off Limits" (Austria / Germany 2011) and "Wall before the Wall" (Austria 2013). His works were among others in Ljubljana / Slovenia (concert by pianist Gottlieb Wallisch 2013), at the congress of the International Viola d'amore Society of America 2012 ('Peri-Tales', commissioned work for viola d'amore and chamber orchestra), the Klangspuren Schwaz 2011 ('phen-ix', interpreted by the Spanish piano trio 'Arbós' ) and in the Benaki Museum in Athens 2015 ('voyage in2' for tenor recorder) and broadcast on ORF Radio Austria 1 . Reimeir currently lives as a freelance composer in Vienna and Innsbruck .
