Christian Schagerl

Christian Schagerl (born February 13, 1986 ) in St. Pölten is an Austrian chef .

Career

Christian Schagerl grew up in Frankenfels . After training at a tourism school in Lower Austria, he worked for three years with Heinz Hanner in Mayerling, then moved to the Erfort guest house with Klaus Erfort in Saarbrücken (three Michelin stars ) and the gourmet restaurant Überfahrt with Christian Jürgens in Rottach-Egern (three Michelin stars). Then he went to the Silvio Nickol gourmet restaurant in Vienna (two Michelin stars) and the Facil in Berlin (two Michelin stars). He was sous chef in residence Heinz Winkler in Aschau (two Michelin stars) and chef at Restaurant Richard in Berlin, which was awarded a Michelin star 2,017th

In 2018 he became head chef at the vegetarian restaurant Tian in Munich on Viktualienmarkt , where he was recruited by Paul Ivic , the head chef of the sister restaurant Tian in Vienna of the same name . The Tian was awarded a Michelin star in 2019.

He will leave the Tian in February 2020. Plans became known that Schagerl would become head chef of a new gourmet restaurant in Maximilianstrasse in Munich.
