Christian Sebaldt

Christian Sebaldt (born May 22, 1958 in Munich ) is a German cameraman .

Life

Christian Sebaldt is the son of a commercial filmmaker. He started photography at the age of twelve. From 1976 to 1978 he was trained as a cameraman at Bavaria Studios . In 1981 he assisted Michael Ballhaus in the cinematography of the film drama Lili Marleen directed by Rainer Werner Fassbinder . In 1984 he moved to the United States. Sebaldt made his debut as a cameraman for a feature film with the thriller Children of the Empire in 1988. Since then he has been the cinematographer for feature films such as Resident Evil: Apocalypse , Species III and Starship Troopers 2: Hero of the Federation . Since 2008 he has also worked regularly as a cameraman for the television series CSI: On the trail of the perpetrators . For this work he was awarded an Emmy for Best Cinematography in 2010 . After the series ended in 2015, engagements in other television series followed.

Sebaldt has been married to script supervisor Mary Anne Seward since July 10, 2001. The couple have one child together. Sebaldt is also related by marriage to the actress Maria Sebaldt .
