Christian Sturm (born January 18, 1978 in Andernach ) is a German opera singer ( tenor ).

Life

education

He first studied at the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz and then moved to the University of Music and Theater in Munich , where he studied opera singing with Daphne Evangelatos and Josef Loibl and concert singing with Christian Gerhaher and Helmut Deutsch . In addition, he enjoyed extensive training at the Bavarian Theater Academy August Everding in the Prinzregententheater in Munich . During his studies he was engaged at the Gärtnerplatztheater in Munich, the Landestheater Coburg and the opera in Koblenz .

career

Since the 2009/10 season he has been a permanent ensemble member of the Wuppertal Opera .

Since 2010 he has had additional engagements at the Nationaltheater Weimar , at the Deutsche Oper am Rhein in Düsseldorf / Duisburg , at the Opera in Dortmund , at the Cuvilliés Theater in Munich, as well as in Basel , Winterthur and Trier . In the 2011/12 season he also sang in Austria at the St. Margarethen Opera Festival and at the Richard Wagner Festival Wels , where he has appeared every year since then.
