Christian Anemüller lived and worked in Stuttgart and Dresden. The focus of his activity was on history, portrait and genre painting . Many sacred colored glazings and glass paintings were created based on his templates. He dedicated himself to this art presumably under the influence of Jakob Grünenwald , professor at the Stuttgart Art School, for whom he implemented designs in glass.

In the mid-1870s he was a student of Theodor Grosse and Ferdinand Pauwels at the Dresden Art Academy , and from 1880 to 1882 he exhibited his works at the academic art exhibitions in Dresden. Of his southern German works, the glass paintings from 1882 for the old church in Ruit (Ostfildern) (broken off around 1963 due to new construction) with the depiction of the blessing Christ (missing), for the town church in Vaihingen an der Enz with the same motif, and for the new one Church in Stuttgart- Heslach with the Descent from the Cross, to be highlighted.

There, in 1895, preserved choir windows for the city church of Our Lady in Dahlen were preserved to this day (as of February 2020) made by the apostles.
