Christian Zech

Christian Zech (born March 27, 1961 in Remscheid ) is a German musician and cultural manager .

He grew up in Eckernförde on the Baltic Sea and went to school in France for a year when he was 17 . He passed his Abitur in Oberursel near Frankfurt, studied guitar (with Olaf Van Gonnissen ) and singing in Darmstadt , and became the founding manager of the Frankfurt Vocal Ensemble . In 1983 he and Fabian Payr won a first prize at the young pop music festival with their own compositions for guitar duo and in 1983 recorded a long-playing record: Payr & Zech - Pieces. In 1988 he traveled to Brazil for three months and studied the Música Popular Brasileira as part of a thesis. In the same year he founded the vocal quintet Vocus , in which he sang as an alto until 1991. In 1990, as a cultural manager for Ensemble Modern , he organized “Response”, the first large-scale educational project in Germany based on the model and with the participation of English lecturers.

From 1991 to 1993 Christian Zech studied cultural management in Hamburg . After graduating, he worked as an assistant to the management of the Junge Deutsche Philharmonie in Frankfurt until he started his own business in Hamburg in 1997. Since then he has been advising foundations, theaters, orchestras and commercial enterprises in matters of organization, IT and databases. In 2000 he founded the cultural association kultFeld , which realizes a music school, a series of concerts and an extensive cultural program in a remote Hamburg district. In 2002 he carried out an extensive study of music festivals in Lower Saxony. In 2004 he moved to Schorndorf near Stuttgart for family reasons . a. for the Internationale Bachakademie Stuttgart , was involved in the field of environmental education and has been cooperating intensively with the office for concert education in Cologne since 2006. His Stuttgart children's organ project was awarded the young ohren prize in 2009.

Since 2010 he has been involved as a board member at Wacholderhof eV at Murrhardt , who received an award from the Forum Region Stuttgart for the “Biohof experience” . There he takes care of the educational support of the school farm days.

He also works as a music teacher at the Mörike grammar school in Esslingen.

Christian Zech is married and has four children.
