societies

Endler was born in Santiago de Chile to a German father and a Chilean mother and has both nationalities. In her youth she played various sports, then ultimately decided on football, initially as a defender. She played for several clubs in her Chilean homeland. With CD Everton de Viña del Mar and CSD Colo-Colo , she won the Chilean championship and reached the finals of the Copa Libertadores Femenina in 2010, 2011 and 2012, which she won in 2012.

From 2012 to 2014 she studied at the University of South Florida and played for the South Florida Bulls . In 2014 she moved to Europe where she was second goalkeeper at the Chelsea Ladies, first behind Irish Marie Hourihan and then Sweden's Hedvig Lindahl and only made three appearances in the league and two in the WSL Cup. In 2015 she returned to Chile and reached the final of the Copa Libertadores Femenina again with Colo Colo, which was lost 3-1 to Ferroviária . Then she joined the FC Valencia on. In 23 appearances, she contributed to Valencia's third place, the best place in the Primera División to date .

For the 2017/18 season she moved to Paris Saint-Germain , where she won the cup in her first season and beat Olympique Lyon 1-0 in the final . At the end of July 2018, she took part with PSG in the Women's International Champions Cup , which was played for the first time, but was only used in the first half of the game for third place, which was lost 2-1 to Manchester City WFC . In the UEFA Women's Champions League 2018/19 she came in six games for use and remained two clean sheets, but was eliminated in the quarter-final against their former club Chelsea. At the capital city club, she is in constant competition with Katarzyna Kiedrzynek , who is already in her seventh season at PSG 2019/20 .

National team

Endler took part in the U-20 World Cup in their home country in 2008 with the U-20 team and was used in the three defeats in the group stage. In November 2010, she took part with the senior national team in the 2010 South American Women's Soccer Championship , in which the Chilean women finished third, narrowly missing out on qualifying for the 2011 World Cup and the 2012 Olympic Games. She was the captain of her team at the 2014 South American Women's Football Championship. Although she did not concede in the victories against Argentina and Bolivia, after narrow defeats against Brazil and Paraguay, the round of the best four teams was missed, so that she could not qualify for the 2015 World Cup and the 2016 Olympic Games. Things went better at the 2018 South American Football Championship in their home country. Here she stayed clean in two games of the preliminary and final round and qualified as runner-up for the 2019 World Cup. In addition, the Chilean women have the chance to qualify against the second in the Africa qualification for the 2020 Olympic Games.

In preparation for the 2019 World Cup, she played against her father's country of birth for the first time on May 30, 2019 and lost 2-0 to the German team .

On May 19, 2019, she was nominated for the first Chilean women's World Cup squad. At the World Cup she was captain again and was used in the three group games. In the first game against Sweden , she was able to keep her team from falling behind until the 83rd minute, but then had to accept two more goals. Against defending champions USA she conceded three goals in the first half, but saved her team from a major defeat in the second half, after which she was named "Player of the Game", which of the goalkeepers used in the group stage except her Argentinian Vanina Correa succeeded in the 1-0 loss to England.

Due to the results of the other groups, in the third group game against Thailand , which the Chileans met for the first time, a victory by three goals was enough to reach the round of 16. It took 48 minutes to score the first goal, with the Thai goalkeeper helping. In the 80th minute, María Urrutia was able to distinguish herself as the first Chilean World Cup scorer. Six minutes later, Francisca Lara had the chance to increase it to 3-0 with a penalty, but only hit the crossbar. After that Endler took free kicks into the opponent's penalty area, but her team failed to score another goal and Chile was eliminated as the second worst group third, as African champions Nigeria had conceded one goal less.
