Christina Liebetrau (born June 1, 1958 in Rotterdam ) is a German politician ( CDU ) and has been a member of the Thuringian state parliament since 2014 .

Professional background

Liebetrau completed vocational training as a construction worker from 1975 to 1978 , followed by a degree in civil engineering from 1978 to 1983 . After that she worked for VEB Housing Combine Suhl from 1983 to 1991 . After the German reunification , she worked from 1992 to 2014 as an employee of the Rhön-Rennsteig-Sparkasse .

politics

Liebetrau became a member of the local council of her home town of Rotterdam in 2009 and has been honorary mayor there since 2010 . In 2014 she was also elected to the district council of the district of Schmalkalden-Meiningen . In the state elections in Thuringia in 2014 , she won the direct mandate for the CDU in the constituency of Schmalkalden-Meiningen II and entered the Thuringian state parliament. In the state elections in Thuringia in 2019 , she lost her mandate.

She was a member of the committee for infrastructure, agriculture and forestry and for the CDU parliamentary group spokeswoman for infrastructure matters. She was also a member of the Equal Opportunities Committee and was appointed to the Monument Advisory Council of the State of Thuringia in 2015 .

Since February 2016 she has been a deputy member of the regional synod of the Evangelical Church of Kurhessen-Waldeck .
