Christina Luft

Christina Luft (born February 21, 1990 in Frunze , Kyrgyz SSR , Soviet Union ) is a German dancer. She was a tournament dancer in Germany from 2002 to 2016. From 2007 she danced in the main group S-Latin, the highest starting class of amateurs in Germany. In 2017 she became known to a wider audience through her participation in the RTL dance show Let's Dance .

Life

Luft moved to Germany with her Kyrgyz German family at the age of one . Here she later completed a psychology degree at the Philipps University of Marburg , which she graduated with a diploma in 2017 .

Luft has been dancing since she was nine years old. From 2002 she danced tournament , until the end of 2004 with Lukas Staudt, from the beginning of 2005 until autumn 2016 with Evgeny Vinokurov . She initially started for the Dortmund dance club, then from 2006 for the Blau-Gold Solingen dance club. After moving to Hessen because of her studies, she and her dance partner moved to the Schwarz-Rot-Club Wetzlar in 2014 . Here they started in the main group S in the categories of standard and Latin American dances . The couple was a member of Bundeskaders B in the Latin American dance division.

Since 2020 she has been in a relationship with the Swiss singer Luca Hänni , her dance partner in Let's Dance from the same year.

Let's dance

Christina Luft first took part in the RTL dance show Let's Dance in 2017 . Originally she was supposed to dance with Pietro Lombardi , who had to cancel his participation due to an injury before the show started. Giovanni Zarrella stood in for him . In the dress rehearsal for the fifth show, Luft broke his foot and was out for the rest of the season. Zarrella danced with Marta Arndt from the fifth show and was eliminated in fourth place in the semi-finals. In 2019, Luft achieved seventh place with Oliver Pocher as dance partner, and third place in 2020 with singer Luca Hänni . At the “Let's Dance” professional challenge 2020, she and Christian Polanc were voted first by the audience.
