Christina Nemec

Christina Nemec (* 1968 in Villach , Carinthia ) is an Austrian musician, radio producer, television presenter, DJ and label owner of the music label comfortzone . She plays bass guitar and produces noise and experimental electronica .

life and work

Christina Nemec studied theater studies in Vienna.

Since the 1980s she has been active as a musician, both in the metal / noise area and in the experimental electronic scene. In 1992 she released a cassette album with Bray on Trost Records. Nemec founded together with Gini Müller , Katrina Daschner u. a. the queer feminist performance band SV Damenkraft . Nemec has been playing with Christian Schachinger and Peter Rehberg in the noise and drone band Shampoo Boy since 2012 .

She plays live electronic music under the name Chra and as Pasajera Oscura together with the musician Irradiation .

Christina Nemec runs the queer-feminist label comfortzone together with Konstantin Drobil (from Trost-Records) , on which she published the Kumbia Queers , Cherry Sunkist, Mika Vainio, Mathias Schaffhäuser and a picture disc by Lydia Lunch and Philippe Petit .

Christina Nemec lives in Vienna and has been working there as a radio maker for Radio Orange with the program Outro since the late 1990s .
