Christine Weber

Christine Weber (born December 1, 1948 in Zschorlau ) is a German politician ( CDU ). From 1999 to 2003 she was a member of the Saxon state government, first as Minister of Equality and later as Minister of Health and Social Affairs .

Life

Weber worked as a trained dental assistant in the Aue Polyclinic until 1970 , then until 1976 as a clerk at the Zschopau District Council . She then spent nine years in homework busy. From 1985 she was a social security auditor . In 1990 she became the department head for health and social affairs in the district office of Zschopau and deputy of the district administrator.

Weber has been a CDU member since 1991. From 1994 to 2003 she was a direct candidate in the Saxon state parliament . Since 1995 she has been deputy state chairman on the CDU regional executive board. In 1999 she became Minister for Equality between Women and Men in the Biedenkopf cabinet . From 2002 she was Minister of State for Health and Social Affairs in the Milbradt cabinet . On June 18, 2003, she resigned from office for health reasons. This was preceded by publications about unlawfully received flood aid funds for her private house in Zschopau after the flood of the century in August 2002 , which she repaid after the affair became known.
