Christo Dimitrov Koilov (born September 23, 1969 in Plovdiv ) is a former Bulgarian football player .
Career
Bulgaria
At the age of 20, Koilow belonged to the first team of Botew Plovdiv , for whom he played point games from 1989 to 1992 in the A Grupa , the top division in Bulgarian football, and finished the seasons with the team in seventh, fifth and fourth place.
For the 1992/93 season Koilow was obliged by league rival CSKA Sofia , with whom he won the national club cup in 1993 and for which he played until the end of 1994 after his team had finished second.
At the beginning of 1995 Koilow was under contract with Lokomotive Sofia and played for the league competitor until the end of the 1995/96 season ; during this time he again won the national club cup.
Switzerland / Germany
After arriving in Switzerland, Koilow played for FC Luzern in the first-class National League A from 1996 to 1999 .
For the 1999/2000 season Koilow was signed by 1. FC Union Berlin , for which he played his first season in the third-rate Regionalliga Nordost and at the end of the season was accepted as a champion in the newly structured Regionalliga Nord , which was held in two seasons . With his 35 league games and three goals he contributed to the championship and promotion to the 2nd Bundesliga , in which he was used in 50 league games in which he scored two goals until the end of the 2002/03 season . He also played ten games in the DFB Cup competition from 2000 to 2003, in which he played six in the 2000/01 season alone and even reached the final with 1. FC Union Berlin. The final against FC Schalke 04 , which was held on May 26, 2001 in the Berlin Olympic Stadium in front of 73,011 spectators, was lost 2-0, and he played for 90 minutes. He was also used in the 1st and 2nd round in 2001/02 and 2002/03 ; he scored his only goal in this competition on August 30, 2002 in a 2-1 first-round win after extra time at 1. FC Schweinfurt 05 with the winning goal in the 101st minute.
Bulgaria
Back home again, Koilow played again from 2003 to 2009 for Lokomotive Sofia, with which he won the championship in 2004.
