Christoph Andreas Jacobi

Christoph Andreas Jacobi (born June 3, 1964 in Cologne ) is a German surgeon , university professor and author.

Life

Jacobi attended elementary school in Cologne-Rodenkirchen from 1970 to 1974 . Then he switched to the local high school. In 1983 he graduated from high school in Cologne . In June 1983 he completed a nursing internship at the Porz am Rhein hospital . Then he did his military service as a medic in Hanover . He received the Bundeswehr Medal of Honor for special services in the medical field . From October 1984 to June 1991 Jacobi studied human medicine at the University of Cologne and from 1991 to 1993 he worked as an internat the Surgical University Clinic in Cologne . He then worked as a research assistant at the clinic for a year .

He published his dissertation Preclinical Resuscitation in Cologne Rescue Services in September 1991.

Christoph Andreas Jacobi worked at the Charité Surgical University Clinic in Berlin from 1994 to 2002 , where he worked a. a. as senior physician and deputy clinic director. In 1997 he was recognized as a specialist in surgery and in the same year he was licensed to teach surgery. He also became the clinic's research officer that year. In 2003 Jacobi became an adjunct professor of surgery. Two years later, the additional designation Minimally Invasive Surgery (MIC) was added. In 2007 he became chief physician of the Center for MIS, Visceral , General, Bariatric Surgery and Traumatology .

Jacobi has been head of the Experimental Surgery Working Group of the German Working Group for Minimally Invasive Surgery (CAMIC) since 2000 . In addition, since 2004 he has been a reviewer of the "Minimally Invasive Surgery" curriculum to obtain the title of "Minimally Invasive Surgeon", certified by the German Society for Visceral Surgery (DGVC) and since the same year a member of the board of the Minimal Invasive Surgery Working Group (CAMIC) .

Christoph Andreas Jacobi has been a faculty member of the European Association of Endoscopic Surgery (EAES) since 1997 and a member of the Scientific and Education Board since 2004.

Jacobi moved to the Dreifaltigkeits-Krankenhaus in Wesseling as chief physician in July 2007 and has been medical director there since July 1, 2015.

Jacobi received many international awards. He is married to Katrien geb. de Cuyper and has three daughters.
