Christoph Müller (born June 19, 1975 in Nuremberg ) is a former German soccer goalkeeper .

Career

In his youth he played for FC Oberafferbach, Eintracht Frankfurt and from 1988 to 1990 for Viktoria Aschaffenburg . At the age of 15 he finally moved to the youth department of 1. FC Nürnberg . There he moved from the reserve to the first team in 1996, with which he became regional league champion in 1997. In the 1997/98 season , at the age of 22, he was second goalkeeper in the 2nd Bundesliga . The club rose with Müller this season as the third-placed club in the Bundesliga . Since Christoph Müller did not get a contract for the Bundesliga with Nuremberg , he was then committed by Rot-Weiß Oberhausen for another season in the 2nd Bundesliga. From the 2000/01 season he played uninterruptedly in the regional football league North, first in the 2000/01 and 2001/02 seasons for the then regional league club Rot-Weiss Essen , in the 2002/03 season at SC Verl and in the 2003/04 season with the amateurs of FC Schalke 04 II.

In July 2004 Christoph Müller moved to 1. FC Kleve , with whom he was promoted from the Oberliga Nordrhein to the Regionalliga West in summer 2008 . After the direct relegation of the Klever from the regional league, a move to the NRW league team Sportfreunde Siegen followed in July 2009 . However, Müller left this club again during the winter break in the direction of league competitor SV Schermbeck . Here the veteran was the undisputed number 1 goal for a year and a half before he lost his regular place at the beginning of the 2011/12 season and then canceled his contract with SVS.

Christoph Müller lives with his wife in Bocholt, Westphalia, and now runs his own goalkeeping school.

In the summer of 2012, Müller became goalkeeping coach at the Westphalian state division club SG Borken , but he left the club after a year. For the 2013/14 season he was assistant coach at the upper division VfL Rhede . He gave up this position for the 2014/15 season due to other professional obligations.
