Christoph Thun-Hohenstein
Christoph Paul Norbert Thun-Hohenstein (born February 16, 1960 in Wolfsberg in Carinthia ) is an Austrian lawyer, diplomat , art manager and publicist.
Life
Christoph Thun-Hohenstein comes from the line of the Counts Thun-Hohenstein-Sardagna and graduated from the Vienna Academic High School in 1978 and received his doctorate in 1982. iur. (Law) and 1983 Dr. phil. (Political Science and Art History) at the University of Vienna .
Between 1984 and 1993 he was in the diplomatic service of the Foreign Ministry in Abidjan , Geneva and Bonn , among others . From 1993 he was "largely responsible for the legal part of Austria's accession to the EU" and subsequently published the standard work on European law, which was published several times . From 1999 to 2007 he headed the Austrian Cultural Forum in New York , after which he worked as an art manager in Vienna. Since September 1, 2011, he has headed the Museum of Applied Arts (MAK) in Vienna. After the end of his first term in 2016, his contract was extended for five years.
