Christopher Moore (born January 1, 1957 in Toledo , Ohio ) is an American writer .

Life

Christopher Moore grew up in Mansfield , Ohio. His father was a patrol officer and his mother worked in a department store. He earned the money for his driver's license with numerous jobs: roofer, night watchman, disc jockey, photographer, insurance agent, hotel receptionist and waiter.

He studied anthropology for a while at Ohio State University , later he went to California and studied photography at the Brooks Institute of Photography in Santa Barbara , where he also took some writing courses.

According to his own statements, Christopher Moore began to write when he was about twelve years old, but it wasn't until he was about 30 that he made his breakthrough with the book Der kleine Demonenberater (Original Practical Demonkeeping ). A year after its publication, The Walt Disney Company bought the film rights to the book.

Moore lives in Kauaʻi , Hawaii and San Francisco , California. Before he became a writer, he worked as a journalist . Today he writes novels that are also internationally successful.
