Chryseldis Hofer-Mitterer

Chryseldis Hofer-Mitterer (born October 25, 1948 in Landeck - Perfuchs ; † February 28, 2017 in Hall in Tirol ) was an Austrian artist.

life and work

Chryseldis Hofer studied from 1966 at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna as a master class student of Rudolf Hausner and graduated in 1974 with the master school award. She lived in Innsbruck , Ireland and Hall in Tirol.

Hofer created works on paper and canvas, stone prints , illustrations and designs for glass windows. She designed numerous posters, including for more than 20 years for the Tyrolean folk theater in Telfs. Symbols such as mountains, water, women's bodies, clouds and trees play an important role in her works.

Chryseldis Hofer-Mitterer was married to the writer Felix Mitterer , the couple has a daughter.

Hofer-Mitterer died in 2017 after an apartment fire.
