Chulumani is a country town in the La Paz department in the South American Andean state of Bolivia .
Location in the vicinity
Chulumani is the seat of the administration of the Sud Yungas Province and the central location of the Municipio Chulumani . The village is located on a mountain spur at an altitude of 1753 m, thirty kilometers west of the Río Boopi , a source of the Río Beni .
geography
Chulumani is located in the Bolivian Yungas on the eastern slope of the high mountain ridge of the Cordillera Real . The climate is a typical time of day climate in which the mean fluctuation in daytime temperatures is more pronounced than the seasonal fluctuations.
The mean average temperature of the region is 21 ° C (see climate diagram Chulumani), the mean monthly values fluctuate only slightly between 18 ° C in July and 22 ° C in December. The annual precipitation is about 1150 mm, the monthly precipitation is between about 20 mm in the months of June and July and more than 150 mm from December to February.
Transport network
Chulumani is located at a distance of 129 kilometers by road east of La Paz , the capital of the department of the same name.
From La Paz, the asphalted national road Ruta 3 leads in a north-easterly direction for 60 kilometers to Unduavi , from there the unpaved Ruta 25 branches off in a south-easterly direction and after 69 kilometers it reaches Chulumani . From there it continues through the villages of Inquisivi and Independencia (Ayopaya) and after 412 kilometers at Vinto it meets Ruta 4 , which after another 15 km reaches Cochabamba .
