Ciara Neville (born October 14, 1999 in Limerick ) is an Irish sprinter .

Athletic career

For the first time in an international championship, Ciara Neville competed at the U20 European Championships 2015 in Eskilstuna . There she was eliminated over 100 meters in the semi-finals and reached fourth place with the Irish 4 x 100 meter relay. In addition, she won the gold medal over 100 meters in 12.01 s at the European Youth Olympic Festival in Tbilisi . In 2016 she was eliminated in the semi-finals of the U18 European Championships in Tbilisi over 100 meters. At the U20 World Championships in Bydgoszcz , Poland , she finished fifth with the Irish relay. In 2017 she qualified for the European Indoor Championships in Belgrade , where she reached the semi-finals over 60 meters. At the U20 European Championships in Grosseto she finished seventh over 100 meters and fourth place with the Irish relay.

In 2018 she took part in the World Indoor Championships in Birmingham and was eliminated there with 7.47 s in the first round over 60 meters. During the outdoor season she qualified over 100 and 200 meters for the U20 World Championships in Tampere , where she reached the semifinals in both disciplines. With the Irish relay, she set a new junior record with 43.90 s and thus won the silver medal behind Germany. The Irish relay qualified for the European Championships in Berlin in August , but with a new national record of 43.80 seconds they did not reach the final. At the IAAF World Relays 2019 in Yokohama , she was eliminated with 44.02 s in the run-up and then at the U23 European Championships in Gävle in 11.57 s, she finished fifth over 100 meters and ran the relay after 44.32 s in fourth place.

In 2019 Neville became Irish champion in the 100-meter run and in 2017 and 2020 indoor champion over 60 meters.
