The Ciudad Real Madrid (Real Madrid City) is the training ground of the Spanish soccer club Real Madrid . It replaces the old “Ciudad Deportiva” (sports town), which was the club's training facility until 2003 and which was sold for around € 487 million to repay debt. The Cuatro Torres Business Area skyscraper complex now stands on the former grounds .

The new “Ciudad Real Madrid” is located in the north-eastern part of Madrid , in the new development of Valdebebas in the districts of Barajas and Hortaleza , close to Madrid-Barajas airport and the IFEMA exhibition center .

The Ciudad Real Madrid extends over 120 hectares , of which around 30 hectares have so far been built on. In September 2005, the first construction phase of the site was inaugurated. The centerpiece is the 9,935 m 2 large T -shaped main building, on which changing rooms, training and fitness rooms, meeting and conference rooms and medical facilities for the first team and 13 youth teams are. In August 2015, construction began on the club's new headquarters . The administration building designed by the Spanish architect Rafael de La-Hoz is due to be completed in early 2017.

Location and public transport

Ciudad Real Madrid is adjacent to the M-11 and M-12 city highways and can be reached by car from exit 5 of the M-11. The Valdebebas station on the C-1 des Cercanías Madrid is located in the immediate vicinity of the sports grounds . The bus line 171 is also available as a means of public transport , which connects the new development of Valdebebas with the metro station Mar de Cristal on lines 4 and 8 .
