Karl Adolf Clarence Hammar (born June 23, 1899 in Solna , † December 31, 1989 in Haninge ) was a Swedish sailor .

Clarence Hammar, who was a member of the Kungliga Svenska Segelsällskapet , made his monotype Olympic debut in 1924 in Paris . At the regatta taking place in Meulan-en-Yvelines , he first reached the finals, but was last in this and finished the competition in sixth place. At the Olympic Games in Amsterdam in 1928 , however, he won the bronze medal in the 8-meter class . He was the skipper of the Sylvia , which had two victories in seven races and was third behind the French boat L'Aile VI and the Dutch on the Hollandia .
