Claudia Koch (* 1980 ) is a German herpetologist .

Life

In May 2000, Koch completed her Abitur at the Gymnasium am Ölberg in Königswinter - Oberpleis . Her research projects include the phylogeny of the American lanceolate ( Bothrops ), the systematics of the blind snake , the biodiversity of the herpetofauna in the Andean valleys, the biodiversity of neotropical spotted iguanas ( Polychrus ) and the herpetofauna in the dry forests of Peru.

Koch was involved, often in collaboration with Wolfgang Böhme and Pablo J. Venegas , in several initial descriptions of species of scale creepers and amphibians from Central and South America , including Ameiva aggerecusans , Ameiva nodam , Epictia antoniogarciai , Epictia septemlineata , Epictia rioignachi , Epictia venwallegasi , Epictia , Epictia vonmayi , Noblella naturetrekii , Phyllodactylus delsolari , Phyllodactylus pachamama , Phyllodactylus thompsoni , Phyllopezus maranjonensis , Polychrus jacquelinae , Stenocercus omari , Tantilla tjiasmantoi and Bothrops sonene .

Koch is a member of the Presidium of the German Society for Herpetology and Terrarium Studies as well as a member of the Societas Europaea Herpetologica , the Alexander Koenig Society, the Society for Biological Systematics and the Association for Tropical Biology & Conservation.
