Claudia Testoni

Claudia Testoni (born December 19, 1915 in Bologna , † July 17, 1998 in Cagliari ) was an Italian athlete and European champion in the 80-meter hurdles .

At the 1936 Olympic Games in Berlin , Claudia Testoni took fourth place twice. Over 80 meter hurdles there was a very close finish in which the first four runners were all stopped with 11.7 seconds. The target camera even showed thousandths of a second. According to this evaluation, the Italian Trebisonda Valla won in 11.748 s, ahead of the German Anni Steuer in 11.809 s (silver) and the Canadian Elizabeth Taylor-Campbell in 11.811 s (bronze); Claudia Testoni was given 11.818 s. In the 4 x 100 meter relay race , Valla and Testoni were then together in the relay that took fourth place.

At the European Championships in Vienna in 1938 , Claudia Testoni won the hurdles in the world record time of 11.6 seconds ahead of the German Lisa Gelius in 11.7 seconds.
